Search help:

All links are gone (missing, deleted)!

Solution

Although it works fine for most people, sometimes (especially on busy servers) the data file gets corrupted.

Unfortunately it's like that with text files - they sometimes get corrupted when accessed by several instances of the script at the same time.

The problem is there is no way to predict if and when this will happen. Some use CCount without a problem for many links, others may get a corrupted/emptied links file even on a low-volume page.

If you have a busy website or are counting a large number of links you should find and use a script that utilizes a MySQL database. Text files just aren't reliable and powerful enough.

TIP: It is a good idea to backup CCount data file from time to time. Use the built-in backup from the CCount admin panel.
